It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Courtney of Lumberton, North Carolina, born in Rockwood, Tennessee, who passed away on June 18, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fletcher Foster Scott and Emma Woodall Scott; her husband Abner Byron Courtney; and her sons, Curtis Byron Courtney and Philip Leigh Courtney.
She is survived by: her son Christopher Courtney (Mary) of Lumberton, NC; and her grandchildren, Adam Courtney (Tabitha) of Hope Mills, NC and Danielle Courtney of Smyrna, TN..
