He was predeceased by: his mother Carol Newton; his stepfather William Newton; and his son Patrick Scott McDonald. He is survived by: his siblings, Bonnie Craig Biggs (Kenny), Michael Joseph McDonald (Monica) and David A. McDonald; and his siblings' children, Chelsea Biggs, Sara Hardin (Brian), Kellie McDonald, Meaghan McDonald, Adam McDonald (Megan) and Seth McDonald (Amber).
