The memory of Shelby Jean Young of Lumberton, North Carolina, who passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 85, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce Simmons and Lewis West; her husbands, Lewis "Dale" Young and Jasper Pittman; and her siblings, Danny West, Steve West, Jim West, Betty Moore and Sylvia Goodman.

She is survived by: her children, Clayton Willoughby (Frances) of Lexington, SC, Tony Pittman (Sharon) of Lumberton, Dale Pittman (Kay) of Lumberton, Ricky Pittman (Lora) of Lumberton and Phyllis Pittman Allen (Leroy) of Lumberton; and her siblings, Larry West of Charleston, SC, Tim West (Lorie) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Pam Kornahrens of Mount Pleasant, SC and Mary Schram (Matt) of Mount Pleasant, SC. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Beulah Baptist Church (6516 Beulah Church Rd, Lumberton, NC 28358).
