He is survived by: his wife Ruth Nicholson Crawford; his children, Deborah Chastain (Larry), Wanda Clark (Sam), Tony Crawford (Viola) and Lynn Gibson (Danny); his grandchildren, Michael Chastain (Kim), Matthew Chastain (Kelli), Mark Chastain (Anna), Isaac Clark (Tinian), Anthony Crawford (Austin), Rebecca Gable (Cliff), Benjamin Gibson and Anna Gibson; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Evie, Adie, Nathanael, Julie, Zoe, Abigail Chastain, Riley, Waylon Crawford, Mahayla, Cole, Cheyenne and Riverlee Gable; his sister Geneva Crawford Burnette (Richard); and his sisters-in-law, Olga Nicholson Huscusson, Eoline Nicholson McCoy, Mary Johnson Crawford, Emily Parker Crawford and Pauline Browning Crawford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bryant-Grant Funeral Home (105 W Main St, Franklin, NC 28734). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Grant Chapel at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home (105 W Main St, Franklin, NC 28734). A burial was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
