He was predeceased by: his parents, Davis H. Goad and Bessie Atkins Goad; his wife Doris Evelyn Brim Goad; his siblings, Lena Gann, Annie Biggs, Ernest Goad, Troy Hill Goad, Clyde Goad, Harold Goad, Roy David Goad and Harvey Bass; and his granddaughter Heather Burgess.
He is survived by: his children, Lorinda Burgess (Jerry) of Pfafftown, Pam Goad of Madison, Rickie Goad of Madison and Brian Goad (Kelly) of Florida; his grandchildren, Kelli Burgess, Nicole Manuel (Ricky Hunt), Adam Manuel (Shari), Jordan Langley (Tate Jr.) and Bria Goad; his great grandchildren, Heather Richardson, Haley Tucker (Chris), Aliya Hunt, Naomi Hunt, Catori Hunt, Clayton Manuel, Charlotte Langley and Benjamin Langley; and his great great grandchildren, Jaxon Herbin and Malachi Tucker.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the Oak Grove Baptist Church (4543 NC-772, Madison, NC 27025). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
