He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Elisha Shelton and Carrie Maude Powell Shelton; his wife Judy Boles Shelton; and his siblings, Powell Shelton, Sr., James Shelton and Helen Wood.
He is survived by: his children, Garry Lee Shelton (Sue), Larry Edward Shelton (Brigitte), Tony Darnell, Edward Lee Shelton, Jr. and Amanda Shelton Combs; his siblings, Carrie Belle Alley, Eugene Shelton (Gwyn) and David Shelton; and his caregivers, Charlie, Donna, Luann, Shaaron and Morgan. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
