He was predeceased by: his father Lewis Earl Purdy; his wife Daisy Tilley Purdy; his brothers, Larry Purdy and Kenneth Purdy; and his grandparents, Joe and Edna Purdy.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Jamie Purdy (Tabitha), Charles Kenneth Purdy (Angie), Tyler Elijah Purdy (Brittney), Angela Louann Weavill (Jason) and Tammy Mae Smith (Derick); his grandchildren, Nicole Stanley, Justin Purdy, Bradley Purdy, Matthew Strader, Travis Strader, Alexis Goins, Daisy Goins, Cody Purdy, Karlie Purdy, Marlena Parker, Kaley Purdy Little, Jamie Purdy, Brianna Purdy, Joe Murphy and Tommy Murphy; his great grandchildren, Brian Purdy, Christine Purdy, Malena Purdy of Bradley Purdy, JR, Josiah Lizardi, Lucas Tucker, Iris Strader and Maddie Stanley; his nieces and nephews, Carrie West, Sandra Sapp, Shannon Mcadams, Donna Bullins, Aretha Hutchins, Tina Stewart, Steven Purdy, Chad Purdy, Lucas Purdy, Noel Tilley and Matthew Tilley; and his siblings, Steve Purdy (Lucy) and Debbie Deane.
