She was predeceased by: her husband John Robert Hughes; her parents, Hardee Richardson and Victoria Richardson; her siblings, Otis, Clyde Richardson, Jane Collins and Ruby Richardson; and her close friend Robert Vandewedge.
She is survived by: her daughters, Paige Carlton and Gayle Shelton (Ray) of Mayodan; her grandson Colby Joyce; and her great grandchild Nate Rumley of Mayodan.
