With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Katernia Dye Flysta of Madison, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 20, 2026 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Spencer Dye and Myrtle Webb Dye; and her husband Metro "Mitch" Flysta. She is survived by: her daughters, Deana Vernon Parsley (Steven) and Shannon Vernon Swann (Richard); her grandchildren, Dylan Spencer Swann, Tyler O'Quinn Swann, Jett Rylan Parsley and Wryn Winter Parsley; her close friends, W. A. Wall and Ron Bell; and her caregivers, Emily, Stephanie, Hunter Thompson, Sandy Penn, Staci Evans, Kelly Chapman, Debbie Foley and Marjorie Cross.
