He was predeceased by: his parents, Mebane Pilly Hicks and Maude Lawson Hicks; his former wife Dale Nelson Hicks; his brother Bobby; and his stepdaughter Lisa Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hall Hicks; his son Jamie Hicks (Crissy); his stepdaughter Susan Coble; his stepson-in-law Mike Carter; his grandchildren, Carter Hicks, Will Carter (Anne), Mitchell Coble (Whitney), Martha Carter (Russ) and Elizabeth Adams (Taylor); his great grandchildren, Hudson and Hunter Coble; his sister Libby; and his brother-in-law Fred Paris.
