Riley Dayne Welborn Obituary

SANDY RIDGE- Riley Dayne Welborn, 81, passed away on March 23, 2025 at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home in Madison.

Dayne was born on November 11, 1943 to the late Benjamin and Verta Kennedy Welborn. He was the founder of the Guilford Bow Hunter's Association and served as the president of the North Carolina Bow Association four times. An avid outdoors person, Riley had a deep passion for nature and archery. He retired from the post office after 32 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his son, Farron D. Welborn; grandchildren, Farron Shayne Welborn (Ashley), Casey Dayne Welborn, Sydney Layne Welborn, Lyndsey Sage Welborn; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Levi, Emma, Bentley, Riley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the North Carolina Bow Association, Guilford Bow Hunter's Association and/or charity of your choice that helps cure dementia.

Colonial Funeral Home of Madison is serving the family.
