It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Louise Briggs of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, who passed away on February 14, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Benjamin and Eva Marsh Garrett; her husband Donald Bruce Briggs; and her brother Bennie Elwin Garrett. She is survived by: her sons, Garrett Leonard Briggs (Joan) of Atlantic Beach, FL, Robert Bruce Briggs (Cynthia) of Waynesville, NC and James Benjamin Briggs (Tammy Brown) of Maggie Valley, NC; her grandchildren, Molly Richardson (Brett), Katie Deal (Ray), Brittni Thompson (Jeff), Bradley Briggs and Malloree Francis; and her great grandchildren, Dominic, Isla, Aspen, Brayden and Elle Rose.
