He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess James Sr. and Jimmie White Sutton; his former wife Carolyn Dee Beasley; his siblings, Betty, Billy, Smokey, Kyle, Thomas, Vincent and Patricia; and his grandson Coleman Cothern.
He is survived by: his son Brandon Sutton (Chanda); his grandchildren, Dylan Sutton (Lauren), Carlee Samantha Sutton and Payden Sutton (Kielynn Rae Cockrell); his great grandchild Shepherd Banks Sutton; his sister Peggy Martin; his son Todd Cothern (Jessica); and his grandchildren, Kayla, Brittney, Brock, Bravleigh, Oaklyn, Brody, Greyson, Liam, Olivia and Abel. He is also survived by his son, grandchildren and nephews.
