He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jacob Hoefer and Mable Hoefer (Maubach); his siblings, Lyle, Kathryn (Smith), Donald, Dorothy (Faber), Evelyn (McMillan), Duane, Maxine (Williams), Daryl and Roger; his wife Maryellen (Faber); and his children, Cyrilla Gregory (Rick), Jerry Hoefer (Pam), Raye Haaland (Jim), Karen Ferin (David) and Joe Hoefer (Lynn). He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church (37 Murphy Dr, Maggie Valley, NC 28751).
