He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Rollins Roberts and Ola Elliott Roberts; and his siblings, Guy "Jack" Roberts, Alton "Gene" Roberts and Mary Harrison.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Cranford Roberts; his children, Guy David Roberts (Lynette) of Sherrills Ford, Kevin Lee Roberts (Carol) of Cherryville and Julia Styers (Mike) of Newton; his brother Charles "Charlie" Roberts of Conover; his grandchildren, Brandon Styers (Julia), Ashley Giannico, Julianne Surratte (Aaron), Dustin Roberts (Julia), Joshua Roberts (Amy), Jason Styers (Kimberly), Amber Roberts, Jonathan Styers (Heather), Heath Roberts and Keaton Roberts; and his great grandchildren, Rylee Styers, Wesson Styers, Nicholas Giannico, Ryder Houston, Beau Surratte, Noah Roberts, Kelsey Surratte, Oliver Giannico, Walker Hill and Abigail Styers.
