He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Long and Jeanette Wilson Long; his wife Patty Lowman Long; and his siblings, Rev. Edward Long and Jeanette Long Huffman.
He is survived by: his children, Joe Long (Michele) of Maiden, Bryan Long (Connie) of Maiden and Barbara Whitener (Dwayne) of Hickory; his brother Eugene Long (Diana) of Newton; his grandchildren, Madison Garcia (Matt) of Raleigh, Jamie Shiffman of Conover, Nick Propst (Jennie) of Maiden, Joshua Long (Erica) of Claremont, Jerome Long (Morgan) of Newton and Tryston Sylvestor of Hickory; and his great grandchildren, Graysen Whitener of Conover, Oliver Lourens of Raleigh, Colton, Skylar Long of Claremont, Mason and Calum Long of Newton.
