Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Jerry William Gilbert of Maiden, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 83, on June 18, 2025. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Lee and Mary Isebell Tucker Gilbert; and his siblings, Hubert "Hub" Gilbert (Francis), Tony, Victor "Vick" Gilbert (Jonnie), Gladys Hull (Yule) and Loretta Whitesides (Carl).
He is survived by: his wife Jane Gilbert; his children, Mary Ann Calloway (David), Teresa "Dianne" Korn (Rick) and Jeffery "Jeff" Gilbert (Danielle); his grandchildren, Derek Calloway, Michelle Hartzog (Kurt), Donna Sherrill (Tyler), Preston Gilbert (Holli), Ryan Gilbert (Breanna) and Zachary Howard Gilbert; and his great grandchildren, Emma-Leigh Calloway, Adyson Hartzog, Noah Hartzog, Eli Sherrill, Payton Sherrill, Westin Hartzog and Ila Gilbert. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Catawba Funeral Home (3060 US Hwy 70 SE, Hickory, NC 28602). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons International and/or Relay for Life of Catawba County in Jerry's name.
