He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Lee and Mary Isabelle Tucker Gilbert; and his siblings, Hubert "Hub" Gilbert (Francis), Tony, Victor "Vick" Gilbert (Jonnie), Gladys Hull (Yule) and Loretta Whitesides (Carl).
He is survived by: his wife Jane Gilbert; his children, Mary Ann Calloway (David), Teresa "Dianne" Korn (Rick) and Jeffery "Jeff" Gilbert (Danielle); his siblings, Roscoe Gilbert and Lynda Beard; his grandchildren, Derek Calloway, Michelle Hartzog (Kurt), Donna Sherrill (Tyler), Preston Gilbert (Holli), Ryan Gilbert (Breanna) and Zachary Howard Gilbert; and his great grandchildren, Emma-Leigh Calloway, Adyson Hartzog, Noah Hartzog, Eli Sherrill, Payton Sherrill, Westin Hartzog and Ila Gilbert. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons International and/or Relay for Life of Catawba County in Jerry's name.
