We bid farewell to Rebecca Hovis Richards of Maiden, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 22, 2025 at the age of 95. Rebecca touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Thomas and Alma Shipman Hovis; her husband William O Richards (Bud); and her siblings, Thelda B. Allman, Marlene H. Cloninger and C. Thomas "Tommy" Hovis, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, William O. Richards, Jr. (Dona) of Conover and Beth Richards Renier of Fernandina Beach, FL; her granddaughter Elizabeth R. Richards of Conover; and her sister Ruth H. Henson of Forest City.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Burke Mortuary Chapel (2516 N Main Ave, Newton, NC 28658). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Hovis Family Cemetery.
