He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Rogers and Edward Rogers Sr.; and his brothers, Edward Rogers Jr. and Dwight Rogers. He is survived by: his wife Mary Wescott Rogers; his children, Abbie Hayes (Dan), Maggie Sexton (Kennith) and David Rogers Jr. (Pam); his sister Gloria Adams (John); his grandchildren, Maranda Bayliss, RaeLee Mayo, Kelsea Sexton, MaKenna Sexton, Michael Rogers and Samantha Rogers; his stepgrandchildren, Derek Davis and Whitney Goen; and his great grandchild Kai Goen.
A graveside service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Cudworth Cemetery. A memorial gathering was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Whole Ministries Center (826 E R Daniels Rd, Manteo, NC 27981).
