He was predeceased by : his parents, Marvin Chester Mitchell and Maggie Pugh Mitchell of Manteo; and his daughter-in-law Nancy "Nan" Reichart Mitchell. He is survived by : his wife Linda Sansone Mitchell; his grandchildren, Jared Thomas Mitchell, Benjamin Edmond Mitchell, Kelsey Lynn Mitchell, Brannon Ruth Mitchell and Aria Jade Davis; and his close friend Joe-Joe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to King's Daughters, ACCESS College Foundation, or local charity of your choice.
