We are sad to announce that on November 5, 2022, at the age of 85, Metta Carawan Austin (Manteo, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her siblings, Jane Barber, Glen Carawan, Bill Carawan and Edward Carawan. She is survived by : her husband Jerry Maness Austin; her children, Lorna Daniels (Allen), Gina Terry (Paul) and Greg Sadler; her stepchildren, Deanie Midgett (Timmy) and Jay Austin (Renee); and her grandchildren, Ali Daniels, Taner Daniels (Kim), Jeffrey Midgett, Brandy Morris, Andy Hatzigeorgiou (Ciera), Ashley Hicks (Colin), Conner Sadler, Courtney Sadler (AG), Kirby Sadler, Cassidy Sadler, Kelsey Oglesby and Brittney Midgett. She is also survived by great-grandchildren and extended family.
