He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Louise Shearin. He is survived by: his children, Franklin Shane and Wendy Jo; his brothers, Fred Shearin and Billy Early; his granddaughter Jennifer; his wife Merle; his siblings, Al Shearin, John Early and Alice Leach; and his cousin Leslie Brouillard. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Outer Banks Chapel - Twiford Funeral Homes (500 Budleigh St, Manteo, NC 27954). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Manteo Cemetery (609 Wingina Ave, Manteo, NC 27954).
