She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Ollie Bell Davis and Jack Davis; her brother Gary Cannon; and her son-in-law Michael Kay. She is survived by: her husband Albert Newton; her son Jack Newton; her mother Lethia Cannon; her brothers, Dewayne "Cotton" Cannon and Jeff Cannon; her uncle Jack Wayne Davis; her pet Luckie; and her nephew Bronson Newton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens (582 Greenlawn Cemetery Rd, Murphy, NC 28906).
