We bid farewell to Rayford Lee Atkinson of Marietta, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 4, 2025 at the age of 83. Rayford touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parent Francis Marion (Karen); his son David Atkinson; his grandsons, Rayford Lee Atkinson and Gage Cutler; and his father Archie.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Atkinson (Debbie) of Orrum, NC, Scott Atkinson (Lori) of Lumberton, NC, Christina Smith (Kim) of Kentucky, Faith Atkinson of Steadman and Charity Narjes of Indiana; his wife Elaine Houska; his pet Mazie; his brother Syral Chalmers Crosby; his nephew Michael Crosby (Beverly Preceeding); and his sister Nancy. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
