She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Francis Gibson and Nancy Etta Baxley Gibson; her husband Sam Johnson McDonald; and her siblings, Elizabeth Singletary, Bessie Newton, Tommie Gibson, Fred Elbert Gibson, Sr., Jack Phillip Gibson, Sr. and Gladys Pond.
She is survived by: her children, Carol (Mike McSwain), Pat McDonald of Lawndale, Grace Costner (Benny Hamrick), Mary (Ed Richards), Doug McDonald (Sandy Jones) and Emily (Dan Bowling); her grandchildren, Adam, Sandra McSwain of Polkville, Stacey Costner, Alex Fear of Kings Mountain, Clay, Lizzie Costner of Charlotte, Wayne McDonald of Waco, Kyle, Beth Richards of Ridge Springs, SC, Claire, Justin Roper of Knoxville, TN, Terrany, David Wright of Shelby, Teresa and Drew Meiers of Kings Mountain; and her great grandchildren, Nahla Grace McSwain, Meissa Cedar Costner, Henry David, Faye Edna Richards, Caleb, Katelyn Wright and John Franklin Meiers. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
