He was predeceased by: his parents, James G. Harris and Nellie Jane Carroll Harris; and his siblings, Juanita, Dorothy, Robert, Charles and Kenneth.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Harris; his children, Donald Harris, Carolyn Honeycutt, Linda Buckner and Wendy Suggs; and his grandson Grayson Collingwood. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
