He was predeceased by: his parents, George Washington Byrd and Irene Yelton Byrd. He is survived by: his siblings, Birdie Byrd and Boyd Byrd; his grandchildren, Joe Roland and Katie Jennings; his sons, Randy Byrd of Sarasota, FL, Johnny Roland (Stacey) of Marion, Charles Roland (Juanita) of Nebo and Brian Byrd of Marion; and his siblings, Wayne Byrd (Pat) of Morganton, Goldie Honeycutt (Howard) of Bakersville, Ruth Brittain (Dale) of Morganton and Alice Wilcox of Valdese. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
