It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine Shuford Smith of Marion, North Carolina, who passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father George Shuford; her husband Donald Wallace Smith; and her sister Barbara Upton. She is survived by: her daughter Cheryl Byrd (David); her sister Janice Byrd; her grandson Cory Byrd of Washington, NC; and her sisters-in-law, Jeanette Queen, Lila Boone (Harold) and Lucille Coales (Bruce).
