She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Avery Hughes and Mallie Chrisawn Hughes; her husband William L. Kent, Sr.; and her sons, William Jr. (Sandy) and Johnny (Laura).
She is survived by: her sons, Darrell (Shane) of Inman, SC and Samuel of Manassas, VA; her sisters, Mary Corn of Dallas, TX and Hope Reeves of Candler, NC; and her grandchildren, Kevin, Karen, Joshua, Misty, Angela, Alyson, Miranda, Saraya and Sydney. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
