He is survived by: his wife Betty Garden Barksdale; his son Greg Barksdale (Gail); his siblings, Irvin Barksdale (Wilma) and Demaris McGuire (Joe); his brother-in-law Charles Garden (Sharon); and his granddaughters, Alexis Barksdale and Sarah Barksdale. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
