He was predeceased by: his parents, John Millard Kiser, Sr. and Clara Wall Kiser; and his brother Claude Kiser. He is survived by: his wife Mili Kiser; his daughters, Kim Kiser Hemphill and Karen Kiser King (William); his stepsons, Alan Harris (Diane) and Otik Harris; his grandchildren, Morgan Hemphill Brinkman (Erich), Mark David Perez, Jr. and Mackenzie Leigh Hemphill; and his siblings, Millard Kiser, Jr. and Jean Kiser Hensley (David).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cross Memorial Baptist Church, PO Box 1124, Marion, NC 28752.
