He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Baxter Canipe and Melva Henson Canipe; his wife Joyce Ann Lewis Canipe; and his siblings, Pauline Gardner, Hazel Dills, Rachel Canipe, Louise Padgett and Steve Canipe.
He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Champion (David) of Shelby, Donna Canipe of Marion, Debbie Canipe (Junior Adams) of Vale and Matt Canipe (Trish) of Conway, SC; his siblings, Faye Lowery, Kathy Hoyle, David Canipe, Marie Atkins and Betty Robertson; his siblings-in-law, Jo Ann Dillingham and Jessie Wayne Lewis; and his friend Lisa Sadler.
