He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Blake Jones; his parents, Lewis Jones and Margaret Huffman Jones; and his siblings, Doris Freshour, Ray Jones, Cotton Jones, Beulah Suttles and Patricia Morgan.
He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Jones, Wendy Jones Huskins, Michael Jones (Melissa) and Travis Jones (Holly); his sisters, Frances Conner and Faye Conner; and his grandchildren, James Jones III, Katie Huskins, Kayla Ledford (Alex), Alyssa Clark (Josh), Brandon Jones, Brianna Hollifield (Garrett), Kaytlin Thompson, Susan Jones, Christian Jones, Kendall Jones and Kalei Parker. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church (4548 US-221, Marion, NC 28752).
