James McMahan Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeter Esrum McMahan and Theodosia McPeters McMahan; and his wife Joyce Nell Higgins McMahan. He is survived by: his sons, Tom McMahan (Suzy Howle McMahan) of Marion and Steve McMahan (Melanie Deal McMahan) of Marion; his grandchildren, Elizabeth McMahan, Laura McMahan Miller (Matt), Bryan McMahan (Alison) and Rachel McMahan; and his great grandchildren, Caroline Miller and Marielle Miller.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Westmoreland Chapel (198 S Main St, Marion, NC 28752). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you make a donation to the McDowell Tech Nursing Program in James' honor.
