She was predeceased by : her parents, Carl Edwards and Mamie Hollifield Edwards; her husband Bobby A. Gurley; and her siblings, Carolyn Ledford and Don Edwards.

She is survived by : her daughters, Martha Garaventa, Cindy Newton (Wayne) and Paula Gouge (Rodney); and her grandchildren, Joseph Garaventa (Katie), Kaleb Gouge (Kayla), Miranda Chiodo and Selena Knight (Garret). She is also survived by several great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Beam Funeral Service & Crematory (2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at the Oak Grove Cemetery (995 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752).
