We announce the death of Keith Bowman Laney of Marion, North Carolina, who passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 66. Keith will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jim" Wesley Laney, Jr. and Elaine Bowman Laney; and his brother John Vernon Laney. He is survived by: his wife Kara Ann Reel; his children, Kristopher Wesley Laney (Lora) of Marion, Matthew Keith Laney of Morganton, Leah Briana Laney (Nathan A. Waggoner) of Monroe and Bethaney Kate Smith (Jeremy) of Monroe; his grandchildren, Sebastian Liam Laney, Jaxxon Wesley Laney, Daphne Nicole Hood and James Wesley Laney; and his brother William J. Laney (Aresa Boykin) of Palmetto, FL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
