He was predeceased by: his father James R. Spencer; and his wife Katherine Hollifield Spencer. He is survived by: his children, Eddie Spencer of Marion and Wanda Burleson of Marion; and his grandson Logan Burleson of Marion. He is also survived by 4 siblings, and several nieces and nephews.
