He was predeceased by: his parents, Summy Truman Bowman and Clema Rose Smith Bowman; his wife Ola Maney Bowman; and his sisters, Bernice Elliott, Betty Ann McNeely, Marie Moody and Reba DeWitt.
He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Bowman Hensley; his grandsons, Bowman Hensley (Taylor Hensley) of Marion and Gavin Hensley of Marion; his sister Dorothy Hope Gardin of Ellenboro; his nephew Larry Moody; his niece Anna McNeely; and his caregivers, Jodi Wright, Frankie Craig, Visiting Angels and Pam. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, 1536 Jacktown Road, Marion NC, 28752.
