He was predeceased by: his father Luther Reel; his former wife Grace Reel; his son Rex Reel; his sisters, Ellen Holllifield and Rosetta Buchanan; and his stepson Jennings Reel.
He is survived by: his wife Lula Reel; his son Darrell Reel (Sherry); his stepdaughter Teresa Reel; his daughter-in-law Cathy Reel; his brothers, Roby Reel and Leroy Reel (Janice); his grandchildren, Amy Hollifield (Eric), Matt Reel (Stacy), Jessica Jolly (Adam) and Christie Anderson (Joey); his stepgrandson Derrick Reel; and his great grandchildren, Grayson Hollifield, Dawson Hollifield and Samuel Anderson.
