He was predeceased by: his father Searcy Scott Baird Jr.; and his grandparents, Searcy Scott Baird Sr., Pearlie Peak Baird, Clyde Davis and Dessie Neal Davis.

He is survived by: his children, Michael Scott Baird and Katherine Elaine Poplin; his grandchildren, Alice Baird, Evie Baird, Ryan Poplin and Andrew Poplin; and his sister Linda Bailey.
