It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ardath Rice (Mars Hill, North Carolina), who passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Carson and Laura Whittington Carson; her husbands, Bob Peeke and Jonah Rice; her stepchildren, Doris Burnette (Ernest) and Jonah Rice, Jr.; her siblings, Beverly, Richard, Alton, Faine, Ray and Ira; and her close friend Helen Ramsey.
She is survived by: her daughter Barbara Davis (Joe); her stepdaughter Peggy Roberts (Craig); her stepdaughter-in-law Helen Rice; her daughters-in-law, Joy Eller (Barry) and Karen Fox; her grandchildren, Sabra Susanne Ball (Clay) and Forrest Fainn Ball, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Ember Carson Hughes and Soloman Fainn Ball; Curtis Ponder. She is also survived by 10 Step grandchildren and many great step grandchildren; as well as many, many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service (7626 NC-213, Mars Hill, NC 28754). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
