With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bascom Whitt (Mars Hill, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 9, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Bascom Whitt to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Chalmers Whitt and Mollie Shook Whitt; and his brother Conley Hubert Whitt. He is survived by: his wife Mary Dean Rice Whitt; his children, Pam Whitt, Tammy Foxx (Craig) and Michael Whitt (Cindy); his siblings, Freda Buckner, Hattie Haney (Jerry), Karen Stines (Bill) and Bennie Whitt (Chris); his grandchildren, Alesha Soehl (Sean), Jesse Pottle, Savannah Whitt, Breanna Pottle, Mollie Whitt and Emilie Whitt; and his great grandchild Alessandra Soehl. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service (7626 NC-213, Mars Hill, NC 28754). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
