He was predeceased by : his parents, Delmer Cummins and Fannie Cummins; his son Del Jeffrey Cummins; and his siblings, Vella "Peggy" Burns and Bruce Lee Cummins.

He is survived by : his spouse Sevelta Jean Cummins; his children, Gregory Kent Cummins of Key West, Florida and Nita Louise Gammon of Mars Hill, NC; and his brother Kenny Ray Cummins of Cassville, Missouri. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
