She is survived by : her siblings, Edna Freeman, David Freeman (Loretta), Ramona Fox (Preston), Lucretia Griffin (Darel), Brenda Drake (Tim) and John Freeman (Sharon). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“I worked with Dixie at Potomac Electric Power Company in Washington, DC before she retired. She rode in our Virginia carpool for a number of years and made our daily commute a lot more fun. No one worked harder or with more dedication than Dixie. She was a loyal friend and a valued coworker. She brightened our workdays with her wit and down-home humor. She pampered her various pets and her friends and loved her family above all. Sincere condolences to all her loved ones. Verna Lomax”
