She was predeceased by: her parents, Gus Wilson and Althea Pate Wilson; her husband Jessie James Edwards; and her siblings, Georgia English, Agnes Chandler, Mary Ferguson, Hubert, Garrett, Wayne and Wade Wilson.
She is survived by: her son Randy Edwards (Selena) of Mars Hill; her granddaughter Brandi Edwards of Mars Hill; and her brother Rotha Wilson of Mars Hill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Compassionate Care of Western North Carolina in Doris's memory.
