He was predeceased by: his parents, Ardle Taffer and Nellie Shelton Taffer; his daughter Tammy Loraine Taffer; his great grandchild Rilyn Ferguson; and his sisters, Beatrice Edmonds and Irene Banks.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Moss Taffer; his children, Kay Garrison (Terry), Brenda English (Scotty), Jimmy Taffer (Tonja), Greg Taffer (Lesa) and Lukus Hyatt; his grandchildren, Hannah Beaver (Chad), Levy Roberts (Megan), Jesse Roberts (Elizabeth), Tiffani Ferguson (Drew), Robert Taffer (Samantha) and Tanya Mullis (Joey); his great grandchildren, Lane, Josie Beaver, Emma, Macie Roberts, Kie, Mary Lane Roberts, Cooper, Colt, Cada Ferguson, Sawyer, Titus Taffer, Jonathan, Addison and Sadie Mullis; and his brothers, Landon Taffer (Evon) and Lwood Taffer (Patsy).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Ivy Ridge First Church of God (139 Ivey Ridge Apartments Dr # Dr, Mars Hill, NC 28754). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
