She was predeceased by : her parents, J. R. Coates and Bessie Davis Coates; her husband Dewey McKinley Brown; her sons, James and Jerry Brown; and her grandson Greg Brown.
She is survived by : her daughter Diane Beck (Darren); and her siblings, Iva Norton and James Coates. She is also survived by two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
