She was predeceased by: her parents, Chalmers Whitt and Mollie Shook Whitt; and her brothers, Bascom Sylvanus and Conley Hubert Whitt. She is survived by: her husband William "Bill" Stines; her children, Amanda Martin, Stephen and Jeffrey Stines; her grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary Martin and Ilaia Martin of Mars Hill; and her siblings, Freda Buckner of Weaverville, Hattie Haney (Jerry) of Weaverville and Bennie Whitt (Christine) of Mars Hill. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
