He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Tipton and Armintha Waldrop Tipton; and his siblings, Bobby, Ted Tipton, Patsy Kuykendall and Hilda Fisher.
He is survived by: his siblings, Judy Rigsby (Ronnie) and Ronnie Tipton (Naval); and his aunt Maudi Waldrop. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Madison Funeral Services (1750 NC-213, Marshall, NC 28753). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Henderson Cemetery (7455 US-25, Marshall, NC 28753).
