He was predeceased by: his mother Nettie Cook Gentry. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Metcalf Gentry; his children, Jenny Gentry Freeman, Charlotte Gentry, Kenya Khodayar, Kaleb Gentry (Eve) and Jerry Waites; his grandchildren, PJ Freeman (Samantha), Aaron Waites, Jerissa Waites, Kelisha Khodayar, Bryar Khodayar, Brandon Waites, Samantha Ashe, Ruby Ashe, Ashley Khodayar, Kristen Holzclaw and Kelcie Holzclaw; his sister Sandra Joyce Clark (Ronald); and his nieces, Kathy Partin, Penny Glenn and Rosie Bustos.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Madison Funeral Services (1750 NC-213, Marshall, NC 28753). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for memorial contributions to be made to Madison Funeral Services to assist with final expenses.
